Meet Katie

dolphin physio Kaite & DivaKatie Angermeyer, M.Sc., R.P.T., has been motivating Sunshine Coasters to get moving since 1980. Her vast experience includes:

  • 1969 B.S. in Physical Therapy, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois  (her favourite teacher was Dorothy Voss, who co-authored the PNF book, from which personal trainers and physiotherapists are still drawing exercises)
  • Worked in large teaching hospitals in Chicago area, including the orthopedic surgery ward where Chicago Bear football players recuperated (but she didn’t want to tell them that she was a Green Bay Packer backer)
  • 1972 M.S. in Physical Therapy (education), Medical College of Virginia  (that’s where she learned to play fiddle and grow beans!)
  • Worked with all ages, including nursing homes and school for handicapped children.
  • Instructor at University of Maryland, teaching therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation courses to physical therapy students.
  • Assistant Professor at University of Kentucky, with a multidisciplinary rural health team course for allied health, nursing, and medical students.
  • 1980 Registered Physical Therapist in BC (license #00010).
  • Worked at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver in cardiac intensive care, respiratory therapy, and general rehab.
  • Since 1980, private practices in Gibsons, Pender Harbour, and Sechelt.
  • Currently owner of Dolphin Physio and Fitness.
